SexyVoices – A Burlesque Theatre Cabaret was presented at the Roundhouse Performance Space, May 12 – 14, 2016 and showcased the amazing diversity and talent of Vancouver’s disability community. We boldly explored sexuality from a disability perspective, breaking down the stigma surrounding the topic with humour, honesty and sexiness!
Incorporating storytelling and burlesque, SexyVoices was an expression of joyfulness and self-discovery – a celebration of everyone and everyBODY!This production would not have been possible without the incredible SexyVoices cast and crew. Click on the button below for the show’s full playbill.

Behind the Scenes- A History of SexyVoices
We hosted two very exciting roundtable discussions in December 2015 and January 2016. These conversations kickstarted the creative process, made space for community feedback and perspective, and explored the topics of sexuality, intimacy and relationships in a safe, supportive, and friendly environment.
SexyVoices workshops officially launched on February 27, 2016 with a very special guest presentation by Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled.
Through our #WheelVoices community page on Facebook, anyone who self-identifies with disability can share stories and contribute to the conversation. Just add the #SexyVoices hashtag to your post and feel free to share on Instagram or Twitter as well! We invite you to post writing, photographs, music, poetry, visual art, or dance. Be creative, be bold, be you!
We look forward to continuing the conversation on this topic and others through our Wheel Voices community-based projects.
